Since July 2023, Katie, a full-time teacher and parent of 5, has dedicated herself to improving her skating skills significantly. She actively participates in the NACHL hockey league alongside her husband, Phillip, and also contributes her time to coaching her kids' Warhawk Youth Hockey Team. Katie's unwavering commitment and impressive progress make her a standout candidate to be featured as one of the top skaters in our program.

PAYG LESSON UPDATE | 04/05/24
Today marks a significant update focused on Katie's skating progress. During her lesson, Katie successfully tackled a series of challenging new drills aimed at enhancing her skating abilities. Throughout the week, she dedicated multiple sessions to public skating and even joined the DKH Coaches Ice session just yesterday. An integral part of our lessons is the Timed Lap, and today Katie set a new personal record. Her impressive time of 19.96 seconds at full speed not only surpassed her previous best but also propelled her to knock another skater off the Top 5 list in the "NEED FOR SPEED" Contest, marking a remarkable achievement in her skating journey.
Skater Update:
I haven’t worked with Katie in a while, but I can tell you that she is still skating well. I have had the opportunity to see her on the ice a couple of times as part of my other job as a development coach and working at the ice rink. She is definitely still getting stronger and faster. Additionally, Katie has successfully created another team that she is a part of outside of skating with NACHL, which is really awesome to see her dedication to the sport thriving in different avenues.
